Note the broad, rich yellow band on throat (in Wood Mouse, yellow on throat is, at most, a discrete spot. Mainly nocturnal. Climbs well. Squeals loudly in distress. Distribution is patchy, and only locally common. Favours undisturbed deciduous woodland.
