FLOWERS are 5-6mm long, yellowish and with the upper lip (as seen in other Lamiaceae) absent; borne in leafless spikes (Jun-Sep). FRUITS are nutlets. LEAVES are oval, heart-shaped at the base, and wrinkled. STATUS-Widespread and locally common.
