FLOWERS are 4-7mm across and pale pink, with a club-shaped stigma (Jul-Aug). FRUITS are pods that contain cottony seeds. LEAVES are narrow, untoothed, unstalked and borne in opposite pairs. STATUS-Widespread and locally common.
