SEA CARROT Daucus carota maritima. Height to 75cm. Similar to Wild Carrot but with more fleshy leaves and umbels that are flat or convex (not concave) in fruit. Flowers structurally similar to Wild Carrot (June-Sept). Fruits oval, with spiny ridges; fruiting umbels flat or convex. Leaves 2 or 3 times pinnate, with narrow leaflets. More fleshy than Wild Carrot. Status found on cliffs, rocky slopes and dunes by the sea, mainly in the south-west.
