SPRING CROCUS Crocus vernus (Iridaceae) Height to 20cm<br />
Perennial that resembles many garden forms of crocus. Grows in undisturbed grassland. FLOWERS are 3-4cm across (when open fully), the pinkish purple with pale stripe (Mar). FRUITS are capsules. LEAVES are long, narrow and linear with a white midrib stripe on the upper surface. STATUS-Naturalised locally and generally rare.
