FLOWERS are purplish green spikelets, borne in long, branched spike-like heads (Jul-Sep). FRUITS are small, dry nutlets. LEAVES are grey-green and 3-5mm wide, with purplish leaf sheaths. STATUS-Widespread and locally common.
