FLOWERS are borne in an inflorescence that is roughly triangular in outline, comprising branches with oval spikelets at their tips (Jan-Dec). FRUITS are small, dry nutlets. LEAVES are pale green, blunt-tipped and often wrinkled. STATUS-Widespread and common.
