FLOWERS are spikelets that are whitish at first; in flat-topped terminal clusters with a narrow bract (Jun-Sep). FRUITS appear similar to flowers. LEAVES are pale green and arise at base of plant and on stem. STATUS-Very local in S Britain but widespread in Scotland and W Ireland.
