132061 LESSER BULRUSH Typha angustifolia (Typhaceae). Height to 2m. Similar to Bulrush (aka Lesser Reedmace). Grows in freshwater margins. Flowers in spikes, comprising a brown, sausage-like array of female flowers separated by a gap from a narrow, terminal spire of male flowers (June-Aug). Fruits with cottony down. Leaves dark green, long, 3-6mm wide. Status locally common.
