YELLOW SEDGE Carex viridula (Cyperaceae) Height to 40cm<br />
Tufted perennial of damp ground. Several subspecies occur, each of which has subtly different growing requirements. FLOWERS comprise a terminal, stalked male spike above rounded to egg-shaped clusters of yellowish female flowers (May-Jun). FRUITS are yellow and beaked. LEAVES are narrow, curved and longer than stems. STATUS-Common.
