134642 Service-tree of Fontainbleu Sorbus latifolia (Rosaceae) HEIGHT to 18m. Spreading, divided tree. LEAVES To 10cm long, broadly oval with indistinct triangular lobes and double-toothed margins. Shiny green above, downy grey below on 7 to 9 pairs of veins. REPRODUCTIVE PARTS Fruits rounded, to 1.5cm long, yellowish-brown with large lenticels. STATUS AND DISTRIBUTION Probably a hybrid between Whitebeam and Wild Service-tree, first found near Fontainebleau, France. Widely planted; also naturalised.
