TOUCH-ME-NOT BALSAM Impatiens noli-tangere (Balsaminaceae) Height to 1.5m. Upright, hairless annual. Found in damp woodlands and shady places. FLOWERS are 2-3cm long and yellow, with a curved spur; pendent, borne on stalks arising from leaf axils (Jul-Sep). FRUITS are cylindrical and explosive. LEAVES are alternate and oval, each side having 7-16 sharp teeth. STATUS-Locally common in N England and N Wales.
