FLOWERS are borne in heads, 15-35mm across, with yellow florets; the involucre tapers gradually to the stem that bears numerous scale-like bracts below the head (Jun-Oct). Flowering stems branch 2-3 times. FRUITS form a white clock. LEAVES are oblong and deeply pinnately lobed. STATUS-Widespread and common.
