FLOWERS are tiny and yellowish with narrow lobes to the lip and a fragrance of honey; borne in dainty-looking spikes, 2-4 cm long (Jun-Jul). FRUITS are egg-shaped. LEAVES are oval at the base of the plant but small and bract-like up the stem. STATUS-Locally common only in S England.
