130327 LARGE-FLOWERED BUTTERWORT Pinguicula grandiflora (Lentibulariaceae) Height to 20cm. Stickily-hairy carnivorous perennial that grows in bogs and damp flushes among rocks. FLOWERS are 25-30mm across, the corolla violet with a purple-streaked white throat, a 10-12mm-long spur and overlapping lobes to the lower lip; borne on slender stems (May-Jul). FRUITS are capsules. LEAVES are yellow-green, sticky and borne as a basal rosette. STATUS-Native to SW Ireland but introduced to Devon and Cornwall.
